We all remember that great scene on C-Span when Condi testified to the title of the August 10, 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing to the 9/11 Comission (Bin Laden Determined to Attack in U.S.). Now it turns out the F.A.A. received numerous warnings that a hijacking with the planes being used as weapons was possible and even the method the terrorists would use. This was such an issue the F.A.A. apparently made a training CD ROM on it, and fifty percent of the F.A.A.'s security briefings from...
The other day Iraqis went out and were able to vote, great. Choice is a good thing. Being able to determine your future: also a good thing. Still True today: 1) Osama Bin Laden remains free. 2) Weapons of Mass Destruction have not been found in Iraq. 3) George W. Bush has turned a record surplus into a record debt. 4) The dollar has lost 30% of its value against the Euro since 2001. 5) No comissioned officer or member of the cabinet has been convicted in the Abu Graib prision scandal. 6) 1,425 U.S. troops have died in Iraq. 10,502 have been injured.
Senator Ted Kennedy shows himself to be the elder statesman and advocates wisdom and diplomacy in Iraq in his speech to the John Hopkins School of International Studies. At the end of the speech he calls out Bush to "swallow his pride and end our country’s continuing failures in Iraq and in the eyes of the world." Finally, a Democrat with a backbone. Perhaps there is a pulse in the party after all. -Drew
