My life and the occassional political rant.
Senator Ted Kennedy shows himself to be the elder statesman and advocates wisdom and diplomacy in Iraq in his speech to the John Hopkins School of International Studies. At the end of the speech he calls out Bush to "swallow his pride and end our country’s continuing failures in Iraq and in the eyes of the world."

Finally, a Democrat with a backbone. Perhaps there is a pulse in the party after all.

He may have a backbone, but Mr. Chappaquiddick is minus a brain.

Right, and when do we send the terrorists and insurgents the route, time table and air lanes we are going to use to pull them out after we give them the due date?

The only backbone he has is from Jim Beam.

Only to Democrats could a strategy of running away be considered brave.

If the majority were to rule in Iraq, they would end up with a Shiite theocracy, right?

Then Iraq would buddy-up with Iran.

Then we'll have three theocracies in the reigon: Iran, Iraq, and the USA

"Brave Sir Teddy ran away - No!
Bravely ran away, away - I didn't!
When danger reared its ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled - No!
Yes, brave Sir Teddy turned about
And gallantly he chickened out
Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat
Bravest of the brave, Sir Teddy"

If there is one thing we know about Sen Ted Kennedy it is that he does see wisdom in skipping out with his butt intact, no matter who he leaves behind to die.

It must feel great to know that your speech is greeted with nods of approval from terrorists all over the world...

Get your trolling finger ready, because I am gonna say it. This is a treasonous statement. It undermines our efforts, attacks our morale at home and in Iraq, and reinforces the stance of our enemies. And why? Just to promote his political agenda and grandstand for his party. There's no other word for it, in my opinion. To call ongoing military efforts "continuing failures" is the height of opportunism.

Simple words won't change anything, especially from an aged-boned sissy DEMOCRATS! Hah! They even let stupid countryside people choose stupid BUSH again!

It's amazing people keep electing this guy.

It's a fact that terrorists keep track of politics in the U.S. regarding the war and terrorism. I'm sure they view Kennedy as a friend.

Why can our country not get good people to run for President? It looks like the political operatives and special intrests control who can run and get the moeny needed!

No, Actually, neither the majority in any of those countries wants a theocracy.  And Iraq qill not get one.  Iran got one due to a knee jerk reaction, and a MAJORITY are regretting it.  Since when have you been forced to join a church?

Nice stupid answer.

I heard Al Jazeera played the tape for Osama Obama, errr, OSama, Barrakk, errr  Osama bin Laden!

(BTW:  That is what Teddy called Barack Obama!  And he is their spokesman?  ROFL!)

Nail on the head award, baker. I want this war to end as badly as anyone, but I don't think THIS is the way to accomplish it! The Democrats are still fuming over an election that they had in their hands (just campaign on the issues, not how crappy you think the Bush admin is, dummies!), and lost because of their bitter outlook.

I forced myself to read the whole thing (wasn't easy).

What a crock of pointless drivel. Just the same old Teddy rants, not one concrete suggestion for doing it better. Talks out of both sides of his mouth - we don't have enough soldiers there to get the job done, but our presence is so "oppressive". Seems to think everything will magically get better as soon as we mount up & ride out of town. He hasn't had any credibility in 30 years, still doesn't. Nicest thing I can say about him is that he's a sad joke. On the other hand, I can see how bailing & getting as far away from the scene as quickly as possible would strike him as a good strategy for getting out of any jam.

Cheers,

The Democrats have lost the pulse of the people, in fact, there probably isn't a democrat whose heart beats for the people anymore. How much more killing will there be of the common person in America? Jobs are being killed, medical benefits are being killed, soldiers are being killed in Iraq and now, Social Security, a promise to the people, a reward for a life's hard work from a government you could once trust and proudly salute is the next killing target for George Bush, the shootin' cowboy from Texas.
Guys like him almost wiped out the buffalo in America. It seems Republicans care about the survival of institutions and business
rather than the survival of human beings. I'd rather be a democrat that gives a panhandler my hand with a coin rather that a Republican that extends his empty hand to shake to get your vote. I have a lot more to say but, maybe later.
